The Mid-Florida Chapter of NIGP was chartered on September 9, 2005 to promote the education and ongoing professional development of individuals such as Purchasing Officers, Agents, Buyers and Managers involved in public procurement. We are dedicated to advancing the professional goals of our members by providing educational, training and networking opportunities, thereby increasing their competency, enhancing their career opportunities and improving the quality of their professional life.

Our Goals

  • Enable our members to exchange useful information about policies, practices, procedures, products, and services of common interest.
  • Promote excellence, enhancing effectiveness and increasing the public trust in the field of public purchasing.
  • Promote ethical, efficient, and cost-effective public purchasing policies and practices.
  • Assist other charitable and educational organizations in the conduct of similar activities.

We are a membership-based non-profit organization. Membership in the Mid-Florida Chapter of NIGP is open to purchasing professionals of various levels employed in the public procurement field. For more information or to join the Mid-Florida Chapter of NIGP, click here.

Since 1944, NIGP (The National Institute of Governmental Purchasing) has been dedicated to developing, supporting and promoting public procurement practitioners through premier educational and research programs, technical services and advocacy initiatives.

With over 2,600 member agencies representing over 16,000 professionals across the United States, Canada and countries outside of North America, the Institute is international in its reach. NIGP's goal is simple: recognition and esteem for the government procurement profession and its dedicated practitioners.
